My sister did her EC engineering and she says that there are many interesting subjects in the course, but what really matters is whether you are truly interested in the course. Look at  your interests and then decide. But my sister wasn't like she loves the subject but somehow by studying it (said that it was difficult) she used to pass, didnt have any backlog, she got 8.3 Cgpa In final year and then got placed in an electronics based company signoff semiconductors and now she's doing well. The EC field is going to grow really well in the future.
