Dear Simra, you can go for Hotel Management course. For admission to a course in hotel and catering management there is NCHM JEE. The test was on Apr.28, 2018. Other than this there are some university specific tests conducted by various universities. Some universities also offer direct admission on the basis of your marks in previous qualifying exam. Every college/university has its own criteria for admission process. Please confirm the university you are looking for. Skills and qualities an In-flight Chef should have are:
1. Excellent teamwork
2. Excellent communication
3. Cultural awareness
4. Flexibility
5. Creativity

Well, it is totally up on you. There are many Chef courses,which you can opt for, if you want to be a chef. But, I will prefer to do the Hospitality Management course, as they will teach you about basic and different kind of things like how to present yourself, how to prepare yourself, if you want to open a restaurant and so on.

Diploma in Culinary Arts
Diploma in Hotel Management
and other Diploma craft courses in Culinary. This will be the right and best choice to explore your Chef skills. In the industry to sustain education is not essential only the experience and the skills you put in to explore the Cuisine is needed. The more your experienced the more you get paid. I would emphasizes on you getting a proper course on culinary rather than a hotel management degree.

To become a chef, top ranking IHMs are better. However, this course can be pursued from other organisations namely Oberoi's STEP program, IHM Aurangabad & WGSHA.
Top government IHMs namely are:-
IHM Pusa, IHM Bangalore and IHM Mumbai.
