The first option is to do a course in hotel management or in culinary arts at a reputed professional institute.
- The 19 institutes registered under the National Council of Hotel Management provide excellent training in the field.
Apart from these, there are institutes run by reputed hotel chains and some private institutes with foreign affiliations and approvals from the All India Council for Technical Education.
- Institutes under the National Council offer a three-year Diploma course while private institutes offer a four-year Bachelor's programme.

It depends on your qualification. There are entrance exams, which you have to give in order to become a chef, like after class 12th NCHM JEE is there. Similarly, programs in Masters are also there to pursue your interest.

You should not intervene more and make pressure on him. What if he don't want to become a chef? It is not easy, but if he have passion, then yes, he can do it.
