You can apply in NCHMCT which is a national level HM exam after 12th and requires 50% in 12th. This is a job that is both physically and mentally demanding, where you are expected to give 110%, day in and day out. Good efforts are seldom appreciated, but a mistake is highlighted in magnifying proportions and in some rare cases can even be grounds for dismissal. Cooking is just one small aspect of a chef's job. I suggest you to complete your 12th with any subject which you feel easier for you to pass from NIOS because it will help you to take admission in good Hotel Management colleges. After 12th you can take admission and start your career as a great cook.

- A chef is one who prepares food in a hotel, restaurant, fast food joint or catering establishment. Beside being the chief cook, a chef plans menus, orders foodstuff, oversees preparation and supervises the kitchen staff.
