Sree Balaji Dental College and Hospital in Chennai is one of the leading college in dental science. It don't rank within the first 50 Dental colleges in India as per NIRF 2023 ranking, but it gives a strong base for students . The college provides undergraduate and postgraduate programs, BDS and MDS respectively, BDS, admission is offered based on NEET UG score and MDS Admission is offered based on NEET MDS score. About 100 students are offered a place in the BDS programme every year. Tution fee in BDS is around Rs. 10-12 Lacs to cover the whole course period. The college also provided modern essential facilities for the college such as dental education facilities.

Admission to Sree Balaji College of Nursing includes achievement test, pass mark and quota and the marks obtained by the candidate in his/ her previous qualifying examinations. The college currently hosts programs such as the B.Sc. Nursing and the M.Sc. Nursing where the admissions requirements depend on marks obtained in the 12 standard for the former or an undergraduate qualification for the latter.Usually the steps in the admission include filling the application form, counseling and interviews. The admissions competition is not aggressive but there are entrance exams that the candidate must pass for him or her to be admitted and the candidate must meet the set requirements. 

The Sree Balaji Dental College and Hospital has provided diverse type of scholarships to MDS students including Periodontology students. When more specific information is sought on MDS in Periodontology scholarships, a few are available but only for the “College” managed financial aid considering the grades of the students. Most of the time with these scholarships, candidates who have done the bachelor of dental surgery (BDS) should have passed with a mean grade of 55% for the general categories and above 45% for the SC/ST categories, get these scholarships. They are encouraged to utilize the student counseling services offered by the college and seek available options to enable them to get comprehensive information on the procedures and eligibility rules concerning the scholarship applications.

In order to secure admission to Sree Balaji Dental College and Hospital, students are required to pass a selection index, the most crucial of which is the NEET scores for both BDS and MDS programs. Applicants are required to satisfy certain prerequisites such as the completion of 10+2 with 50 % or more in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology subjects for BDS and a degree of BDS for MDS applicants. The college admits no more than 100 students in the BDS program, therefore, satisfying the minimum or even the qualifying percentile is not enough for the applicants.
