BIIB College has a high ranking according to NIRF as compared to SBIIMS. The BIIB also has high rankings and reviews from students as compared to SBIIMS  College. BIIB is approved by UGC while SBIMS is recognised by AICTE. The placement records and the placement rate of BIIB are more than that of SBIIMS. BIIB Pune accepts CAT, MAT, XAT, CMAT, and MAH-CET scores for MBA admission. BIIB also conducts SBEST for aspirants who have not appeared for any of the accepted entrance exams. For PhD admission, the institute considers SBUP-PET/ UGC NET (JRF)/ UGC-CSIR NET (JRF)/ SET/ GATE/ SLET scores. Sri Balaji University, Pune also admits PhD students through an Entrance Test (SBUP - PET) conducted at the level of the University. The shortlisted candidates are further called for interview and other selection rounds.

Yes, BIIB Pune conducts an interview round for candidates shortlisted based on entrance exam score. Essay Writing is an integral part of the interview process. Applicants are required to appear for an essay writing exercise on a subject, which will be given on the spot in the selection centers. This will be for 30 marks and 50%  of the marks will be counted. This essay writing will be for half an hour. The topics will be general and anyone who follows the National Newspapers can easily appear for the same and score good marks.

BIIB Pune conducts group discussion round for shortlisting candidates for MBA admission. It is for 30-45 minutes per group. This may include role play, case studies, and extempore speech and GD. 35% of the weightage in the merit list will be given to the GD process. Therefore the GD process may extend to the second day although all efforts will be made to complete the process in one day.
