For the majority of programmes at Banaras Hindu University, admission to courses is determined by entrance. A one-year dropout student may therefore apply for the desired course; nevertheless, they must be eligible for that entrance. The applicant should also fulfil the minimal eligibility requirements particular to the course. Furthermore, an application explaining their cause for dropping out may be required of the student. Even this is not always necessary.

Wherein, son/daughter of BHU employees get benefits under the quota. There are 10% of seats of total admission. Additionally, the OBC, ST, and SC quota makes it up to 25%. Hence, there are 48% of seats for the general category candidates. The information mentioned here is taken from the web and hence, is indicative.

B.Com (Hons) is a more detailed analysis of the topics whereas B.Com is a bit simpler as compared to B.Com (Hons) as there is not much detailing and the subjects are easier. If you have high marks in 12th you can take up hons but maths as a subject until 12th is compulsory for honors otherwise you can take simple B.Com.
