Yes, students can get a seat at Bangalore School of Design (BSD) if they satisfy the required cutoff of 50% in class 12. But passing the entrance exam, which is an essential component of the admissions process, is also a requirement for admission. Although a student can apply if they satisfy the minimum cutoff, their performance on the entrance exam and other admission requirements will ultimately determine whether or not they are admitted. Thus, in order to get a spot at BSD, passing the entrance exam is just as crucial as meeting the minimum cutoff.

For a student who has a minimum cutoff for a B.Sc to get a seat at BSD- Bangalore School of Design, it is quite hard as Bangalore School of Design is quite a reputed college and is considered among the best every year a lot of students try to get admission there, and the cutoff keeps increasing every year, but the student should not lose hope just now, I think he should try to secure admission, if he's lucky he may get a seat based on that year's cutoff and other factors, even if not selected don't lose hope there are more such colleges there try applying in them.
