Dear Avjit, you can choose either of the course. There is no difference between the two. In the past autonomous institutions were not allowed to provide a degree in management. Therefore, they used to run the course in the name of PGDM or PGDBM. Only the institutions affiliated to a university were allowed to provide a degree of MBA. Even IIM's provided diplomas. However, recently the government has made the changes into the law and now you can get MBA degree. I hope this would suffice. All the best and God bless you.

It will be based on experience and grade pay. Most of the banks have a system of grade pay. Generally, it will be INR 9 lacs to INR 15 lacs pa in grade of CM (some) and AGM (AVP).

Bank PO has an excellent career path and the career growth is determined based on merit. PO is Scale I Officer (Assistant Manager) and normally becomes Manager (Scale II Officer) 3-4 years.
