NIELIT Guwahati has provided placement portal, where students can register for free on the NIELIT placements portal and submit their CV. The portal also facilitates prospective employers to examine and select resumes on specific need and skillsets. BCA and M.Sc in computer Science both are preferred degree for getting IT jobs, but M.Sc is higher degree course than BCA so placement in M.Sc is more than BCA programme. Bachelor of Computer Applications ( BCA ) is full time 3  year programme which divided into 6 semester at NIELIT Guwahati. The total seat intake for this programme is 40 . The basic eligibility criteria for this course is 10+2 passed in Science/ Arts/ Commerce with a minimum of 45% in aggregate (40% for reserved category) preferably with Computer Science/ Mathematics as a subject in 10+2 or Diploma Engineering from AICTE recognised institute. In other colleges, BCA has 100-150 students but in CRSU (Chaudhary Ranbir Singh University) have a limited number if seats of 60 students.

The programme covers various aspects of computer applications and is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in computer Science and its applications. The selection of candidates for the BCA programme at Invertis University is based on their merit in the last qualifying examination or the score obtained in the entrance exam conducted at the university level (IUCET).

Class 12 with a minimum of 50% aggregate in PCM from a recognised school is the basic eligibility for BCA offered at Invertis University. For general BCA, Maths is not compulsory. SC/ST candidates need a minimum of 45% aggregate to be eligible for the programme.

Candidates who have passed Class 12 with Mathematics/ Computer Science/ Computer Applications as one of the subjects with at least 50% aggregate can apply for IISE Lucknow BCA programme. Further, aspirants also need to qualify the admission test conducted by the college.
