Beautician eligibility

The eligibility criteria for a Hairstylist course are different for different institutions. Given here are general criteria that are normally followed:Age: The minimum age limits are 16-18 years. Some institutes may have younger candidates, depending on the duration of the course.Educational Qualification:Basic qualification: Usually, the education you have completed is at least Class 10. The further ones require completion up to Class 12.No stream requirements have been defined. Candidates can be any one of them.Interest and Aptitude: An earnest interest in beauty and grooming. Some institutions may judge your creativity or test with a basic entrance test for this.Health Requirements: Some institutes may insist on your physical fitness, so that you can stand for long hours and work with chemical products during the job.Extra Certifications: Some beauty schools may provide advanced hairstyling courses or specialised certifications after basic training.It is always better to check for the requirements of the particular institution from where you want to pursue the course.

Candidates need to fulfill the eligibility and admission requirements of Beautician and Makeup courses as offered at the beauty institutes as under: Course LevelEligibility Criteria Short-term/ advanced/ professional certificate courses Candidates should have passed at least class 10th or equivalent qualifying examination.For advanced short-term courses, candidates should have completed a basic course or relevant subject.UG and PG Diploma courses For UG Diploma Candidates should have passed at least class 12th or equivalent qualifying examination.Those who have completed certificate courses after class 10th or equivalent qualifying examination are also eligible to apply for Diploma courses.For PG Diploma Candidates should have completed class 12th and a bachelor's degree in any stream Graduation coursesCandidates should have completed an advanced Diploma from a recognised beauty and makeup institute. Candidates should have passed class 12th or equivalent from a recognised board of education Master coursesCandidates should have completed a bachelor's degree with relevant subjects from a recognised beauty instituteCandidates who have completed a bachelor's degree in any stream with an advanced or basic course in Makeup and Beauty.
