Admission to BIBS is strictly based on merit. So, it is not that easy to get admission to an MBA course in the BIBS. The candidate needs to fulfill the eligibility criteria and needs to have a valid entrance test score from tests like CAT, MAT, GMAT, and XAT. Entrance exams are competitive, and getting a good score requires dedicated preparation. Since direct admission is not an option, performance in these exams becomes a must. However, if you work regularly and then study in the same way, there's no reason you will not be able to secure an admission in BIBS for an MBA.

It is considered to be one of the noted business schools in Kolkata but may not rank as the best with a lot of prestigious institutions in the race. Some of the highly reputed schools of this city are the Indian Institute of Management-Calcutta, International Management Institute, and Indian Institute of Social Welfare and Business Management. These institutes are known for their academic excellence and maintain good industrial relations as well. Although BIBS is a quality institution with a good reputation, these institutes mentioned on the list hold better rank to satisfy one as a prestigious business institute in Kolkata.

To get admission to BIBS for an MBA, one has to prepare for entrance tests like CAT, MAT, or XAT. If one doesn't have scores in these tests, then he/she has to go for the BIBSAT test. Improve test scores by focusing on important topics, question banks, and mock tests on a regular basis. Improve quantitative, language, and analytical skills. Train yourself for the interview as well, explaining why you want to get an MBA, and meet the requirements with a Bachelor's degree with good exam scores by submitting all documents on time.

Bengal Institute of Business Studies, in general, is considered a Tier-2 business school in India. In general, Tier 1 institutions are those which happen to be ranked at the top and highly prestigious ones, such as IIMs, XLRI, and ISB, endowed with global reputation and known for their very competitive selection processes. Although BIBS can be said to have quite good education and placements, especially in Kolkata, it is not nationally or internationally famous like Tier 1 institutions. Yet, it is a good option in management studies, particularly in the mindset of students who seek quality education within eastern India.

Bengal Institute of Business Studies has a very strict refund policy. The tuition fees paid are generally not refundable except under any valid reason or sudden circumstances. In some cases, the cancellation fee, as small the amount is, would be deducted. In cases of students who do not have a valid reason for withdrawal, the chances of refunding the money are scarce. For refunding, a student has to write a formal letter which again undergoes a review process, which takes around a week. A refund, upon sanction, is processed along with a penalty. One must be confident about joining the college before submitting the fee. Always refer to
