University of Oslo as well as the University of Bergen are two well-known institutions in Norway and great study abroad options for students. When it comes to rankings, University of Oslo beats University of Bergen with the rank #117 in QS World University Rankings for the year 2024. The latter has been ranked #281 in the same category. The University of Bergen is among the most sought-after universiteis in Norway. The UiB is among the universities that does not officially publish data on the acceptance rate. However, as per EduRank and other unofficial sources, the University of Bergen acceptance rate is 29%. Such a low acceptance rate indicates that UiB is very selective in admissions and it is hard to get into. Yes, the Universtiy of Bergen offers courses in English language. This makes it highly popular among international students. The university offers 25 academic programs in English and more than 400 courses for exchange students taught in English. However, the University of Bergen does not offer any undergraduate programme taught in English. Applicants with education from outside of Norway must document Norwegian language proficiency in the application process if they wish to study bachelor's programme.
