Scope is a qualitative factor and hence cannot measure and tell which is better. Both BHM and B.Com are having more potential in their own way. Both are three year undergraduate courses.
For BHM students, the chances are very bright. You will have lots of scope in both private and public sectors. You can find work in fields like hotel and restaurant management, guest houses, lodges, merchant navy, airline and catering service, etc. after completing graduation.
However, some differences here are when it comes to B.Com, most of the subjects are accounting or finance subjects unless of course your specialization is otherwise. It gives you employment in a business house, export company, financial organization, banking sector or teaching profession.
There is no restriction on doing these courses for even Science students. However, a science student will find it very difficult doing B.Com since it largely involves accounting related subjects. However, a science student doing BHM will find it easier to manage with the course since they are more practical.

Students who are pursuing the 2nd year of the HSC course are also eligible to apply the course. Most of the institutions offer admissions on the basis of the marks obtained in the qualifying exam. Some of the colleges offer admission on the basis of the performance of the candidate in entrance exams conducted. For example, Manipal University carries out online entrance exams for the purpose of selection. The selection process may vary according to the norms and rules set by the institution or the University to which the college is affiliated.

The admission notifications are usually published at the beginning of every academic year. The candidate has to visit the web portal of the institute to get information regarding the details of admission. The same cover details on places where the application form is available, and how to fill it. Application form can be obtained through either method. It can be collected from the office of the institution or from university's website. Filled applications must be posted to the concerned address given in the advertisement before final date.
