Biomedical Engineering combines the engineering principles with the principles of Biology and Medicine. Biomedical engineering is an emerging field of study in India. 1. Eligibility criteria for Biomedical Engineering:
The candidate must have passed 10+2 with Biology, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as subjects. There is a requirement of 50% marks in 10+2. But this requirement varies from University to University. In order to get admission in premier universities like the IITs, one has to clear their Joint entrance exam.

They can work in areas like medical equipment manufacturing, molecular, cellular and tissue engineering. They can work in both government as well as private sector. They are easily absorbed in big hospitals and healthcare research institutes. They are employed in hospitals to look after the biomedical equipment. Such professionals also engage themselves in research activities by working with doctors. They work in areas such as physiology, medicine, and computational mechanics and invent new technologies. They can also be employed in research work. Many private companies develop vast number of equipment and devices which are later used in hospitals, healthcare facilities, government institutions and research facilities.

It could prove to be difficult for you to cope up with the extensive projects of Bio tech engineering, however as yo u have an interest you can opt various courses that you may join, which could help you with a successful career, such as:
-Diploma –Class 10th pass from a recognized board with minimum 40% marks.
-Bachelor's Degree: Class 10+2 examination with at least 50% marks.
-Post-graduation degree: Bachelor's degree from a recognized university with at least 45% marks.
