Hi,
B.Sc biology is a 3-year Bachelor degree course. It is a diverse subject that covers many biological aspects of living organisms including the subject areas of Botany, Zoology, Microbiology, Ecology, Genetics and Molecular Biology. The basic eligibility criterion for pursuing BSc biology degree is qualifying 10+2 or equivalent examination in science stream with a minimum 50% marks secured in Biology subject and/or in aggregate from a recognised board of the country. Yes, Microbiology and Biotechnology are paramedical fields that require biology as a main subject. You can enroll for Bachelors in Microbiology or Biotechnology from any graduate college that offers these specialties after H. S. C.

There is no fixed number of students applying for BITSAT with Biology as the subject. The number keeps on varying year on year. I can tell you one thing that no doubt the competition is high, but if you are clear with your concepts and determined, you can surely get a call for admissions.
