No, biology is not a mandatory subject for the NEST exam. At NEST, students have the option to pick their classes. NEST consists of five sections: a compulsory generic part (part one) and four subject sections (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology). Students have the option of taking only three of the four subject sections. The best scores from the three sections in which they have appeared are put on the list for the final merit. As a result, if students don't want to pursue biology or just don't want to pursue biology further, they can skip it and concentrate on the other subjects only.

The main important subjects to opt for CUET includes Biology/Biological Studies/Biotechnology/Biochemistry. You have to chose from Domain-Specific Subjects only.Biology Biochemistry You'll also have to choose at least one language from the options offered in Section 1 of the CUET exam. Most B.Sc. programs require English, so that's a safe game and also chekc the shiksha websit for more updates on CUET.

Well if you are looking for pursuing a B.Tech in government or semi-government college then you must have the subject maths in your 11th and 12th along with biology. Also, you have to attempt JEE Mains to get a percentile which will further decide your stream.
