Biophysics

M.Sc in Biophysics is a 2-year long course divided into 4 semesters. The minimum eligibility criterion needed to be fulfilled for pursuing the course is graduation in any of B.Sc. Physics, Bio-informatics, Biology (10+2 with mathematics), Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, B.Tech. Bioinformatics, Biotechnology and Industrial Biotechnology. Biophysics, as the name suggests, is physics as applied to biological world. The structures and functions of biological cells, molecules and organisms are studied using methods of physics. Biophysics is the Science of developing theories and methods of physics towards the investigation of biological problems. Theaverage tuition feecharged in India for the course ranges between INR40,000 and 1 Lacs. Admission to the course is based on the candidates performance in a relevant entrance exam such as the Bangalore University Entrance Exam, Bharathiar University Entrance Exam, Bhopal University Entrance Exam and Manipal University Online Entrance Test entrance exam etc. Such postgraduates are hired in capacities such as Biophysicists, Medical Biophysics, Applied Biophysicist, Researcher, Associate Engineer and Quality Controller etc. And in industries like Pharmaceuticals, Manufacturing, Biotechnology, Research Organizations and FMCG etc. , besides colleges and universities as teachers.

It mostly depends on where or which college are you applying for. Mostly M.Sc Entrance exams are conducted by some top-notch colleges only while a few conduct personal interviews because the crowd for the occupancy is relatively less. If there is an entrance exam:
The main focus will be on epidemiology, the basic ones and pharmacology and a few statistics but it is all basic and any medical graduate can answer them. If it's a personal interview:
The question will be interrogative like why you want to join the course? Where do you want to see yourself after 5 years? Would you be interested in Ph.D. also, if offered?
