It will be better if you join ECE, opportunities are less in biotechnology. I am an M.Tech in biotechnology graduate, I worked in many companies and struggled a lot, but even that was also not enough to get a job. Even payscales are less when compared to ECE stream in the industry. Even if you study MS out of the country, chances of getting a job are very tough in India. Many people said that biotechnology will be a boom in the future, but unfortunately, it did not happen.

Yes, for biotechnology you need to have a background in physics, chemistry and biology.
You seem to have studied these subjects so you are eligible to pursue biotechnology.

It is not possible to pursue any engineering degree while studying in classes 11 and 12. You need to complete 12th class with a good score to do engineering.
To pursue genetic engineering you should take PCB and you are advised to write some entrance exams like JEE Mains, VIT , SRM, etc. in order to get a good college for biotechnology and genetic engineering.

Biotechnology is a rapidly developing field. Many private businesses are exploring this field and heavily investing in it. It is safe to say that there are ample job opportunities for B.E./B.Tech biotechnology graduates in private sector. Government sector too offers job opportunities. Average starting salary is generally between 2.4 to 5 LPA.

Both are good but different from each other as if you have a knowledge of computers then you go for CSE and trust me it has a bright scope in near future. But if you are a biology student then biotechnology degree is perfect.
