As per my analysis, due to recent advancement in the field of Bio-Technology, the Molecular Biology and genetic engineering domain promises to create a research oriented and placement oriented environment. I may not be able to clarify the offerings of other Universities, but being gratified alumni of Lovely Professional University, I managed to fetch some of the unique highlights of School of Bio-Technology & Bio-Sciences, LPU. It would be worthwhile to share with you to get the clear picture regarding the offerings of LPU in this domain. In LPU the Bio-Tech. Department is regularly works on student research projects with novel ideas of applied value. The highlights include:
Faculty: Highly experienced faculty, academically excellent in terms of their educational background, research and teaching. Fields of study: Genetic engineering, Molecular Biology cell Biology Molecular Diagnostics, Cloning (Reproductive and Therapeutic cloning)
Thrust Areas of research: Plant Functional Genomics, Molecular Marker studies, Taxonomy and Phylogenetic analysis

I would say Lovely Professional University is best for pursuing B.Tech in Biotechnology. If you re looking for quality education, good placements, exposure, academics then LPU is right place, it has all. I am saying this because one of my known is pursuing same course from LPU and her experience is amazing. She told me Faculty members works hard tirelessly in enabling students with the acumen to apply the findings of Bio sciences in the fields of medicine, forensics, nutrition and dietetics for the benefit of the community. LPU School of Bioengineering and Biosciences is equipped with state-of-the-art Bioprocess Engineering and Bioscience labs and believes in imparting knowledge to students through a practical approach to achieve mastery in plant and animal physiology. Few points told by my known who did her studies from LPU that will help you to make your decision:
The course offers specializations in Dairy Technology, Fermentation Technology and Bioinformatics. The curriculum offers prime focus on fundamental and applied aspects of biotechnology. Students can get a foreign degree through international collaborations (2 year in India and 2 years abroad or 2 year in India and 1 year abroad)
In addition to core curricula, course offers subjects like communication and soft skills to enhance personality and employability. She said, specializations may be offered in Dairy Technology or Fermentation Technology or Molecular Biotechnology (subject to minimum number of students and feasibility)
