Admission will be granted purely based on merit obtained in the Entrance Test to be conducted by the Nirma University. Appearance in the Entrance Examination does not guarantee candidates for admission in the courses. The test will be based on the undergraduate syllabus of Life Sciences and Chemistry. There will be 100 objective type questions of 100 marks. The duration of the test is 1 and half hours. There will be no negative marking. Some popular entrance examination to get admission in this course are CUCET, BITSAT JNUEE PET.

At the undergraduate level, this deemed University offers BTech across 23 specialisations. Thapar is at least 30 years older than SRM. In comparison to SRM, Thapar has a lower batch strength. Thapar selects students based on their JEE Main rank, resulting in a superior peer group. Thapar has a stronger placing track record.
