As far as I know, since biotechnology is a practical subject you don't have an option of the distance programme. Microbiology likewise is also a practical subject. So, you will have to go for the regular classes, that might be a different matter that the amount of attendance can be low.

Both UGC NET and CSIR NET exam are held for the selection of assistant professor and JRF. And the minimum eligibility criteria is post-graduation degree. The candidates can apply for their post-graduation subject or its related subject only. As you have completed both MBA and M.Sc. You are eligible to apply for both UGC NET and CSIR NET. The NET exam consist of two papers. First paper is common for all the subject on the other hand the second paper of NET is based on the major subject of your post-graduation that you have applied for. Hello,
The UGC NET exam is organized for assistant professor selection in university and junior research fellow. The CSIR NET exam is also organized for the same purpose. The difference between both exams is that CSIR NET Exam is held for Science stream candidates while UGC NET Exam is held for commerce, arts and other stream candidates.
