As per eligibility criteria you are eligible, because you have completed class 12th in year 2016. However, your Polytechnic Diploma cannot provide any help in admission in B.J. M. C. course.

To get admission in VIPS, you need to get good rank from 1 to 200 maximum even less than that because competition is so high and though it depends on counseling and as much I know almost seats get filled in first counseling. If you want to crack it by any how then do hard work and study the whole course, attempt the exam by focusing each and every question and be careful if there will be a negative marking. Good Luck!

Although, it's not a good option to choose the distance and open learning. But if you are working in the same industry or pursuing another short-term course then it's not a bad idea to choose the same.
