Hi Utkarsh!
If your ultimate goal is to pursue mass communication course only, you should undoubtedly pursue BJMC. But again, mass communication is a wide field with multiple dimensions. If you are interested to make a career in content writing, English Honors will be helpful. For all other dimensions of mass communication, English Honors won't be of much help and hence, it will be wise to pursue BJMC directly.

Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University has it's own selction criteria. GGSIPU conducts an entrance exam for the candidates and then on the rank scored they are alloted the eligible college. GGSIPU only consider the rank scored in the entrance by the student according to which they are selected. Yes you are eligibile for the college according to previous year cut off.

Register and apply:
Interested candidates can apply online with the required information.
Entrance test:
Eligible candidates need to appear for entrance test conducted by the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda.
Group discussion:
Shortlisted candidates will be called for group discussion based on the marks obtained in entrance test.
Personal Interview:
Shortlisted candidates will be called for personal interview based on their performance in group discussion.
Final Selection:

You may face a little difficulty in getting admission as when I checked last year's cut-off I could not see your rank. Keep a check on this year's cut-off to see if there is any change in the rank.

According to last year's cut-off, you can get admission in 2nd round of counselling for 2nd shift.
It may change this year. So, keep a check on IP's site for the cut-off release date.
