No, a Bachlor's degree in Mass Communication is not mandatory to get admission to an MMC admission, however, having a degree in a relevant discipline will only help you get a better of MMC subjects as you already have the foundational knowledge of them.Having a relevant bachelor's degree also acts as a guide for a successful career choice as you will already know about your interests in a specific specialisation you wish to pursue as a career path.

No, you will not require giving the exam of CMAT for the course of mass communication and journalism from Gujarat University. The CMAT is basically an entrance examination that can be cleared by students who want to undergo an MBA course from one of the B schools. For courses in mass communication and journalism, the entrance examination is mostly conducted by Gujarat University or through some other process.
