No, you will not require giving the exam of CMAT for the course of mass communication and journalism from Gujarat University. The CMAT is basically an entrance examination that can be cleared by students who want to undergo an MBA course from one of the B schools. For courses in mass communication and journalism, the entrance examination is mostly conducted by Gujarat University or through some other process.

Yes, you may pursue higher education after getting a bachelor's degree in Mass Media and Communications. While, most students prefer to start working in fields like journalism, advertising, writing, etc. others may go on to pursue additional certificate degrees, and diplomas to enhance their skills and portfolios. Students may also opt for an MA in Mass Media and Mass Communications. It will expand your technical knowledge and give you an added advantage over other candidates who may apply for the same job as you.

To become a newspaper editor, first, complete your class 12th from a recognised board with a minimum aggregate of 50-60%. Pursue courses like BA in Journalism, Mass Media, and Mass Communication or English. You can get admission into these courses by clearing entrance exams like CUET, FTII JET, JMI Entrance Exam, etc. Complete your degree and develop skills like writing, attention to detail, creativity, and research skills. You may pursue additional skill development courses along with your degree or gain experience through internships and network in relevant fields.  Students who have passed their class 12th from any stream with an aggregate of 50-60% are eligible to pursue BMMMC. BMMMC course is a creative field of study and students who wish to pursue a career in the mass media and communication field must develop other skills like reading and writing, research, time management, attention to detail, creativity, and conversational and interpersonal skills. The students must also be good with newer technology or willing to learn about it.

Some of the top colleges offering BMM courses are Sophia College for Women Mumbai,  Jai Hind College Mumbai,  Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT) Kolkata,  Delhi College of Arts and Commerce,  Lady Shri Ram College for Women, to name a few. Students can identify the eligibility criteria and fee structure of the colleges and select their college accordingly.A majority of the colleges offering BMMMC course do provide internship and placement opportunities to the students to provide them with hands-on training and learning opportunities.

Yes, BMMMC is a good option for graduation for students who have good communication skills and are interested in working for various mass communication platforms and roles such as Print, Electronic, or Digital Media as a Journalist, News Anchor, Radio or Video Jockey or Public Relations or Corporate Communication and Advertising, etc. Although many students plunge into the field straight away after completing their Bachelor’s in Journalism and Mass Communication, many prefer Master's courses.
