The Department of Computer Applications was established in 1984, initially with an intake of 30 students and the department admits 60 students every year at present.
Eligibility- 50% in graduation. Candidate must have completed graduation from any recognized University.
Candidate from Category-I of Karnataka who has attained 45% marks in graduation is also eligible to apply.
Admissions- Admission is through counselling based on the marks obtained in Karnataka PGCET conducted by the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA).

More than 100 top and well established companies across the country/abroad from all sectors visit the campus for recruitment. Admission to II year/III semester Bachelors in Engineering/Technology (Lateral Entry) shall be open to the candidates who are holders of a Diploma or equivalent qualification as recognized by university who have secured not less than 45% marks in the final year examination (fifth and sixth semesters) in the appropriate branch of engineering.

If you're from Karnataka, you should take Karnataka Common Entrance Test (K-CET) and if you're from any other states other than Karnataka then you should write ComedK.

MS Ramaiah is far better in terms of placement as it has variety of branches and placement cell is well developed so students get more opportunities with decent packages.
