The Bachelor of Optometry typically emphasizes clinical skills, patient care, and hands-on training in diagnosing and treating eye disorders. Bachelor of Optometry often includes extensive practical experience through clinical rotations and internships. In contrast, a BSc in Optometry tends to be more science-focused, covering theoretical aspects of vision science, optics, and biomedical sciences. While it also includes practical training, the curriculum may place more emphasis on research and the scientific foundations of optometry.

No, in India, individuals who have completed a B Optom course are not typically entitled to use the title "Doctor" or prefix "Dr." before their names, as the B Optom degree is not a doctoral-level qualification. Instead, individuals with a B.Optom degree are generally referred to as "Optometrists."
