The cutoff marks for B.Tech admissions at S.A. Engineering College vary each year and depend on the branch, the applicant pool, and the TNEA counseling process. Generally, popular branches like Computer Science and Electronics require higher cutoffs due to higher demand, while other branches like Mechanical or Civil Engineering may have slightly lower cutoffs. The cutoff range can differ for students based on categories such as General, OBC, SC/ST, etc. Typically, scoring above 60-70% in relevant subjects increases the chances of securing a seat in the desired branch.

S.A. Engineering College primarily accepts the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) counseling process for admission to its B.Tech programs, which does not require an entrance exam but instead considers students' 12th-grade marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. For students from outside Tamil Nadu or for those interested in specific quotas, they may accept other national-level exams, but this varies year by year and often depends on the college's admissions policies. Additionally, management quota seats may not require an entrance exam, offering a different route for admission.
