Eligibility CriteriaThe basic eligibility criteria for pursuing Bachelor of Unani Medicine & Surgery (BUMS) course is a pass degree in Higher Secondary Examination or 10+2 in Science stream with subjects such as Physics, Chemistry and Biology with a minimum of 50% marks from a recognised college or university.The students who have studied Urdu in class XII or having proficiency in Urdu language will be given preference in admission.Just 35 medical colleges in India offer educational programs in Unani system.Some institutions offer admission through state and national level entrance examination.At the time of admission, the candidate should have attained a minimum age of 17 years.

Allahabad State University (formerly known as Prof. Rajendra Singh University) doesn't offer the BUMS (Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery) program. However, the State Unani Medical College (SUMC) located in Prayagraj, which is affiliated with Prof. Rajendra Singh University, does offer the BUMS program. Here's the eligibility criteria for the BUMS programme at SUMC:Pass 10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology as core subjects and English as a mandatory subject. Minimum marks requirement is 50% for general category students.Passed Class 10th with Urdu, Arabic, or Persian language as a subject or passed the Urdu test of Class 10th (preference given to students with Urdu proficiency).
