I would personally not recommend pursuing Bachelor of Visual Arts in Applied Arts and Graphic Design from distance learning in India if you do not get any classes to do practicals. Graphic designing is all about practicals and industry awareness. You may surely pursue this course via distance mode if you are already practicing the same on the job. I would suggest you do "On the job" training if possible, and pursue the course simultaneously. Once you complete the course, you may join as the below-mentioned options:
- Advertising art director. - Animator. - Creative director. - Graphic designer. - Illustrator. - Printmaker. - Production designer, theatre/television/film.

You may pursue a graphic designing for a short term as well, along with animation depending on your choice to have an edge over others. A course in multimedia will offer you an ocean of job opportunities in web designing, computer games designing, advertising graphics, animation and new media. Multimedia professionals are also recruited in schools, publishing houses, films and video conferencing multimedia developers can also work as flash developers, network engineers, publishers, graphic artists, sound experts, animators, authors/content providers, project managers and picture researchers. One can work as a freelancer. Common Job Areas (Designations):
- Web Designer/Developer Multimedia
- Designer Software
- Developer/Programmer
- IT Support/Helpdesk
- On-line publishing (editorial/design)

Dear Bhanu, To be honest, if you really want to go abroad then only consider the USA, Australian and Europe. Otherwise, you should pursue Bachelor's degree in India only. Now, suppose if you are going to Europe (London) or Australia, then your passport-visa and accommodation expenses will cross more than 10 lacs. Additionally, you have to pay tuition fee which depends on the college. Even if you get scholarships (chances are less because scholarship sanction fund is lower for Bachelor's degree), still your overall yearly expenditure will more than 10 lacs. So, if you can bear that expenses then it's absolutely fine to go abroad. Otherwise, my suggestion is to pursue your Bachelor's degree in India, have some work experience and then go abroad.
