CA Eligibility

To pursue Chartered Accountancy, the candidate has to go through a process of training and clear examinations at various course levels, conducted by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI).There are three main course levels in Chartered Accountancy - Foundation, Intermediate and Final.CA Course Admission RouteCA Course Eligibility CriteriaChartered Accountancy Foundation RouteThe candidate must have passed Class 12 and completed four months of study period after Chartered Accountancy registration to be able to appear for the Foundation examination.The candidate needs to register with the Board of Studies and complete four months of study period.Chartered Accountancy Direct Entry RouteIn this entry route for Chartered Accountancy, graduates/postgraduates from the Commerce stream with at least 55 per cent aggregate or equivalent score can apply. However, they must have studied Accounting, Auditing, Mercantile Laws, Corporate Laws, Economics, Management (including Financial Management), Taxation (including Direct Tax Laws and Indirect Tax Laws), Costing, Business Administration or Management Accounting or similar to the title of these papers with different nomenclatures.Graduates/postgraduates from non-commerce must have secured a minimum of 60 per cent aggregate or its equivalent grade in the examination conducted by any recognised University (including Open University).Direct Route entry in Chartered Accountancy is also open to candidates who have passed the intermediate-level examination conducted by The Institute of Cost Accountants of India or by The Institute of Company Secretaries of India. Such candidates are exempted from qualifying Foundation and can register directly for the Intermediate course.Candidates in their final year of graduation can also register for the Intermediate course on a provisional basis. Registration of such candidates would be regularised only on submission of the final year mark sheet or passing certificate within six months from the date of appearance in the final year graduation examination and on successful completion of ICITSS (Orientation Course and Information Technology). During the provisional registration period, a candidate can undergo and complete ICITSS (Orientation Course and Information Technology).

The minimum eligibility criteria for pursuing CA course is class 12 pass or equivalent from a recognised institute or university. Candidates who have completed graduation can directly take admission at CA Intermediate level. The criteria for shortlisting candidates for placements is determined by the participating organizations themselves. The maximum number of shortlisting by recruiting entities cannot exceed 10 times the number of vacancies they declared for Chartered Accountancy.Also, the participating organisations usually shortlist candidates depending upon overall educational qualifications, number of attempts, other attributes, Completion of Articleship training and in case a greater number of candidates qualify the selection criteria companies may choose on random basis as per their choice.Organisations participating in the Campus Placement Programme prefer that the candidates selected by them should be ready to join the organisations immediately and should not claim that their Articleship training is pending and require more time to join.

IIM MBA Pop (Postgraduate in Management for Experienced Professionals) is a specialised MBA programme offered by the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) for professionals who have a minimum of 5 years of work experience. The eligibility criteria for the programme are as follows:
1. A Bachelor's degree or equivalent in any discipline from a recognised university/institute with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks.
2. A minimum of 5 years of post-qualification work experience as of March 31 of the year of admission. Based on the above criteria, it is essential to have an undergraduate degree to be eligible for the IIM MBA Pop programme. Therefore, if you have completed your CA but do not have an undergraduate degree, you may not be eligible for this programme. However, it is recommended to check with the specific IIM where you wish to apply for their MBA Pop programme as the eligibility criteria may vary slightly depending on the institutes discretion.
