Camera and light management skills are fruitful to get to the technical jobs into film making or professional videography or photography in India and abroad.
While thinking of jobs abroad check the two major concerns that may hurt your prospects outside India:
1. The certificate is recognised and acknowledged in that country.
2. You gain such skills that even if the certificate course is just an elementary level thing, still the course serves its purpose to convey your skills and expertise of the camera skills and the lighting skills as well.
These two domains are complementary to each other but are kept aside for the sake of specialisation.
In India, government jobs are there in documentary production with private channels or Doordarshan. It should be appreciated that a course titled as documentary production shall have limited offerings if the nomenclature does not match the approved requisites.
In other countries, the technician knowing camera and lighting has an ample number of jobs once the person is able to break the ice and is able to develop a trust with the employer.
A proper, impressive, as well as professional portfolio of the work is needed as an example.

A course in camera handling/videography and light management (shooting and of stage) skills are one of the main components of film making careers.
I shall assume that the above course is an introductory level course where the person has learnt the basics and foundation have been created. It is also noteworthy that the course in camera shall involve - not all cameras - that are actually used in the field. To know all that one will certainly need one of the two:
1. A place to work where the skill and learning enhancement is an integral part of the working
2. A place to pursue higher degree where the previously learnt skills are enhanced via teaching, practice and live projects.

There is an important observation regarding this that candidates who are good in communication skills, those who know how to handle situations, conflicts as well and those who know how to manage the interactions between one company and other stakeholders should go for PR field.
Corporate communication is also the same thing as Public Relations whereas camera work is a technical work in which you manage the camera, production of some documentaries or you do the photography, etc. It's a desk job which needs less communication skills and more of technical skills.
Public relations and corporate communication shall prove more growing and well-paid work profile than camera profile.

It is not worth pursuing a certificate in camera and lighting from distance learning in India or from anywhere because this 'camera' thing needs real learning which is more than the classroom. Such learnings and experiences come when the cameraman gets time to learn the nuances and advanced things at a dedicated place.
If we allow distance learning to run and sell such a course and people start doing the same, it will be tough for the field of videography and photography or even film-making to get people who actually know what to do.
Creative aspects of learning are developed when a class meets. Hence, we may not suggest a total distance mode course in camera works or lighting or direction or even acting. Practical learning has to be there, at any cost.
It is not worth doing any course which needs professional competence which is developed by personal contact with the institution and in regular classes.
There are many aspects of media-related courses and it should be clear to us that distance learning cannot develop the level of skills and competence that regular courses can do.
It is possible that one does distance learning studies when a foundational skill-set is already earned.

Distance learning was not devised as an alternative to classroom learning or practical learning with the teachers.The same applies to the question as well. FCP is something which is a special learning and through the distance mode, I do not think that it is possible to comprehend and learn the best of FCP like tool through distance. Besides, in India, we do not have that strong and fault-free delivery system of distance learning programmes.

Camera and lighting course for a government job lead to the technician profile in the sound and production departments. PSUs, government public relation and information, culture and languages Departments have such units that work on the video recordings, events, etc. As a cameraman, one can also join a university where an auditorium becomes the place of work for the person. I must share the observation that sound and light are generally connected with each other and camera is kept into the production team works. Unlike Kurukshetra University, Siri Fort Audi, IHC Delhi, Sahitya Academy or any other government organisation offers jobs to trained people who can manage the stage lights and work in the event, PR, departments.

5. Educational Institutions i.e. universities as well.

The National broadcaster offers jobs to documentary makers-Directors, Cameraman, Screen Writers and Editors. This may be noted that the same work also goes on in project assignment mode as well. Along with the Doordarshan jobs, there are public relations department in all the states and at the central level. There are many education-related departments of the government like UGC's CEC, CIET of NCERT managing the Gyan Darshan like channels. Moreover, there is IGNOU and SWAYAM MOOC platforms where documentary making course can get acknowledged for a job.
