No you will not be able to apply for Canadian universities because they ask for no band less than 6 and you have reading 5.5 which is not acceptable.

I would suggest you to give it again because Canada always asks for more than 6 as a band which would make it equivalent to 7 based on CLB (Canadian Language Benchmark). So better give it again and try to get more than 6.5 in each section.

Hello Harpadam, large number of Indian students are now a days going to Canada for engineering graduation. Unfortunately the admissions there are not based on academics alone but on a host of different items. The minimal percentage necessary for studying in Canada is 65 percent or higher for the humanities stream in class XII and 70 - 80 percent or higher for the Science/commerce stream in class XII. Students with less than a 60 percent grade point average can enrol in Foundation and Diploma programmes.
