Hi Dinesh83959! CAT marks and percentile relation varies from year to year. The cutoff for joining NIT Trichy varies based on a person's job experience, interview and group discussion performances apart from CAT percentile . However if you are a fresher and an open category student generally the cutoff is around 90-95 percentile.

The basic minimum eligibility required for admission is given in the college website. This is the link http://www.iimshillong.ac.in/admissions/pgp-admissions/#w349 . The details of the percentile, marks in Class X, XII and the breakup of different components for the admission will come out in due time.

Hi Vijay,
It depends on your category if general 99.8+ would be sufficient. However, percentile is not the only criteria but it is still the first step, IIMs look for overall potential and capabilities of students in selection.
All the best.

It might be hard for you in some colleges. But in colleges where reservation is there you might have a shot. But getting a good CAT score will boost your profile. So Yes, performing very good in CAT will definitely take you to colleges GD/PI.

for cat 70percentage and for TANCET it depends upon number of students apply , u must get top 100 rankings because the seats for TANCET category are less and filled up quickly. Academics score helps only through cat not in TANCET also u belong to OC so seats are very few through TANCET .

Yes. CAT or MAT score along with a consistent academic performance is considered by IIM's. It doesn't mean that you must score 80+%. Above average is preferable.

For PGDM admission you need to apply separately. College issues separate forms for PGDM courses. There are a number of exams considered for PGDM admissions, CAT is one of them. Based on your score, you'll be shortlisted for Gd/pi. Based on your GD/PI performance you'll be admitted.

If you are targeting this year's CAT, then this time you need to take as many mock tests as you can. Sit for 3 hours and give tests like a match practice. Do revise the concepts and formulas for the quant section because questions mostly become easy if you have all the formulas on your fingertips. Verbal communication needs practice and if you had done ample amount of prior practice of this section then you will get through this section. DI and LR need a bit of patience and concentration. Try to solve the questions after reading all the given conditions and key points. Take one or two tests each day and revise as much as possible.
