The scores of the HSC and SSC are considered for IIM-Bangalore and few others. But IIM-Ahmedabad, Calcutta, etc., give the admission on the basis of the CAT score. Your 12th percentage is very less and that will affect your entry to IIMs. You have to score between 99 to 99.5 for a safe bet and yes, graduation percentage matters.

Yes, all B-Schools including Iims give weightage to CAT scores for first shortlist. After first shortlist, students go through What/PI and than final shortlisting is done. A good score in CAT do helps one to get into top-tier B-Schools of India. What-PI performance is also considered after CAT scores.

For IIMS, the competition is very stiff. The CAT score should be more than 95 percentile.

Hi Ananya,
VIT is governed by DTE (Directorate of Technical Education), Maharashtra. As per their guidelines, VIT accepts CAT score for MS (Master of Management Studies). Other exams accepted are CET and CMAT. We can discuss the details.
