IIT Kharagpur offers Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Post Graduate Diploma in Business Analytics (PGDBA) in the field of management. IIT Kharagpur admission to MBA is through CAT scores for VGSOM. Candidates seeking admission to the MBA course must have a valid overall score of 90 and sectional score of 50 each in CAT for Master of Business Administration (MBA).For Post Graduate Diploma in Business Analytics (PGDBA), candidates required an overal CAT percentile of 85 and sectional percentile of 85 each in order to be eligible for the admissions. The aforementioned cutoffs have been anticipated from the past year cutoffs and may vary depending on various factors taken into consideration by the institute during MBA admissions.

Generally the CAT/GMAT/MAT/XAT/CMAT/IIFT etc. are conducted much before the final semester exams of most undergraduate courses. Candidates are also eligible in some of these exams from their second last semester which gives them enough time to ponder over their choices based on the scores obtained. The couselling also takes place immediately once the results of the exams are out. Candidates  who are expectant to get an admission but are still not done with the final semester exams are required to upload provisional marks so as to continue with the counselling. This option is readily available across all counselling procedures. They can get admission based on that provisional marks. But once the final semster is done and the actual marks and percentages are out, candidates should immediately update the same with the counselling authority.
