The CAT cutoff between 80-85 percentile can be the good enough for NIBM Pune. So you chances are very less here.

Hello Nandini. Both CAT and MAT are Pan-India entrance examinations for admissions into management programs. CAT significantly differs from MAT in terms of difficulty, pattern and acceptability. While CAT scores are accepted widely across all B-Schools including Iims and IITs, MAT scores are not. MAT scores are accepted by reputed private management institutions. Feel free to contact me for more information. All the best !

Hi There, There is absolutely no comparison between CAT and MAT
1. CAT is far more better than MAT as it is conducted by IIM and it is the only exam that if you crack, can give you a ticket to IIM while MAT is the least rated amongst all the entrance exams and is accepted by only low and average ranked colleges which would hardly give you any placement
2. CAT is conducted once in an year while MAT is conducted 4 times an year
If you are to take my advice, I would suggest you start preparing for CAT. Also do take up XAT and CMAT. XAT is accepted by Xaviers
3. CAT is accepted by all the colleges while MAT is only accepted by TIER 3 colleges.

However, only academic track is not given weightage in the overall admissions process. There are many other criteria like your admission test scores, performance in Group Discussion (GD) - Personal Interview (PI) and work experience. Hence, you can crack it up. To secure admission is a decent B-School, you must secure a minimum of 60 percentile in CAT. Check out Thiagarajar School of Management (TSM), Madurai, one of the best B-School in South India. It has
