The cutoff for the OBC, SC, and PwD categories is normally around 40 percentile. Admission requires CAT rankings, which are followed by group discussions (GD) and personal interview (PI) phases. Yes, you can apply for the CAT exam with less than a 5 CGPA as there is no minimum CGPA requirement for taking the exam. However, getting into FMS (Faculty of Management Studies) is highly competitive, and they consider your academic records, including undergraduate scores, along with your CAT score, GD-PI performance, and work experience. Low CGPA might impact your overall profile, so aim for a high CAT score to improve your chances.

DOMS IIT Roorkee accepts CAT score for admission to MBA programme. Hence, applicants cannot get a seat in MBA without CAT. Besides, the selection for PhD course is based on UGC NET, CSIR NET, GATE, etc. Aspirants applying for PhD do not require a CAT score.
