After Diploma, you can take direct admission in B.Tech (2nd year) through lateral entry. So, instead of the last two years of school and four years of the degree engineering course (a total of six years), the same qualification is achieved in the same time with three years of a Diploma course and three years of the degree course after the direct transfer. Engineering entrance exams like JEE Main (previously AIEEE), JEE Advanced (previously IIT-JEE), and individual state and college Common Entrance Tests can be by passed and avoided.

Personal Suggestion: After class 10th, complete your class 12th, and then go for a Degree, because a Degree course is more flexible. Depth of knowledge imparted will be comparatively more than that in a Diploma. Pay scale at the time of employment is comparatively higher.

Yes, there are so many batches which start late. Allen is the business giant in Kota now. They will give you admission any time, they just want money. So be careful with your son's future. Take care of his priorities.
