Hello, hope you are doing well.
All the government colleges of the home state are good for mechanical engineering.
You will definitely get a government college with 65000 rank along with your mechanical branch.
Google the best government college of your state and get the best one by going through the counselling.
All the best.

Hi.
It will depend upon the IIM which you are seeking. For example, if you want to go to IIM Bangalore, which is well known for Human Resource studies, then they consider the 12th and 10th results, which should be above 90% to be in the eligibility criteria.
If you are aiming for IIM Ahmedabad and IIM Calcutta, then there is no such issue. Because they only ask for the CAT percentile which should again be around 98.5+ to get a call for interview.
So yes, you are eligible for IIMs except Bangalore.
Thank you.
If there are further queries, you can always ask.

No, your score is pretty low to get in. I would advice you to apply for different colleges.

On the basis of class 10th, he can go for various Diploma courses like engineering, hotel management, etc., after that he can go for a degree or he can go for Dual/ Integrated engineering Diplomas for brighter prospects.
There are many reputed universities, like Lovely Professional University, Manipal University, Amity University, SRM University, etc. offering a wide variety of courses to choose from.
All these universities offer world class learning atmosphere to students along with good placements. Check websites of some of these universities for more details.
Good luck.
