If you're an enthusiast looking for a career in cybersecurity, I believe that you should start by researching about the basic uses and applications of cyber security, follow it up with the function, purpose and perspectives it has in today generation. The skill set is rather vast and demanding for advanced technologies like cyber security and, to become an expert in this field, you will need to master the technical skills like networking, computer programming and such, do not forget, you will also be required to have adequate soft skills such as verbal communication, written communication and presentation skills to expose your work effectively. One way to look at the growth in the field of cyber security is from a learner's point of view. Through security certifications. There are a multitude of certifications based on the category or field of security. Here are a few to name:
Beginner level:
Certified Ethical Hacker - CEH | EC-Council, provided by EC-Council
CompTIA Security+ Provided by CompTIA
Medium to Advanced Levels:
Offensive Security Certified Professional - Provided by Offensive Security. CompTIA CSA+ Provided by CompTIA CyberSecurity Analyst
Similarly, there's CHFI - Computer Hacking Forensic Investigator Certification [Computer Hacking Forensic Investigator-CHFI | EC-Council] for Candidates interested in Forensics - Provided by EC-Council among many more.
2. The next approach is through attending and trying out CTF events - All about CTF (Capture The Flag). These are the perfect platforms to prove your strength and show your skills in the field of cybersecurity. People learn about computer security in a number of ways, all important. This is my personal opinion about both the courses and at the end, I am not going to declare any course to be better than the other.
CCNA takes you deep into the networking field by making you understand networking, communication, comm. Security as well as making you understand how big companies have huge communication infrastructure and how do they manage them. MCSA makes you understand how everything works in things connected to technology like, how does an OS work, troubleshooting it, communication between different hardware equipment, managing them, etc? Here the main difference between CCNA and MCSA is that CCNA focuses only on INTERNETWORKING and COMMUNICATION, whereas MCSA puts a little bit light on all other factors than internetworking and communication.
A person interested in communication and internetworking can get a CCNA Certification.
A person interested in general maintenance of technology, as well as a little bit of networking can get a MCSA Certification.
Still not clear, than let me be precise:-
SYSTEM ADMIN MCSA (here it has been taken for granted that the systems are Microsoft products, as LINUX Products need you to be RHEL Certified)
NETWORK ADMIN CCNA (though you will be taught about CISCO Exclusive products, the acquired knowledge can be easily used to administer other company's networking products).
