Indeed, there is a physical exam as part of the selection process for the Combined Defence Services (CDS) exam. Many applicants are turned down following the physical exam because they weren't fit. To be enrolled in the Indian Armed Forces Academies, candidates must pass a written, mental, physical, and interview exam. It is recommended that candidates take the medical and physical examinations before completing the CDS application.
