No, you can't opt for CFA along with MBA. You can pursue it separately, if it is required for your job, interest and future demand. CFA in India is offered by ICFAI Hyderabad. This course is designed with the consideration of Indian financial market. Whereas CFA USA is offered by some recognised training institutes from CFA USA. CFA USA is comparatively broad and vast than CFA India, as it is designed to cater the demand of international financial market. Any commerce or engineering graduates can pursue CFA USA or India. Hi Saurav,
A Master's degree in Finance or a related field is recommended but not necessary. You can also have an MBA and then opt for PhD in Finance. You must however demonstrate excellent knowledge and quantitative skills, relevant experience and interest in Finance and high level inclination towards research and academics and the given subject. Assuming from your question that you are looking for a Ph.D in USA, please note that you must give the GMAT and TOEFL as a part of the admissions process. Having a FRM will definitely add a value.

CFA charter from USA is a professional course which holds a lot of value if you are looking for a job in investment banking, equity research or any job in valuations. It is a rigorous course broken up into three levels. Level I, II and III
In India, there are very few CFA charter holders. If you are a CFA charter holder, your chances of getting into investment banking, financial KPOs, Retail Banks, Risk Management increases manifolds.
