Before opting for animation and VFX related domain in India, be sure about the institute and its placement assistance. Ask them if their exams are getting conducted on time, if results are published in time. I have seen 90% of the students suffering due the above said issues after opting for a university certified graduation and other certification programs. According to me, you should join a long term certification course where the content of the course, duration, and almost everything remains the same. If you can move out of Punjab than I would recommend you to search an institution in metropolitan cities because through that you would get quality education and good chance for placements in reputed hotels .

I depends upon your interest and you must see that the books of which subject are easily available in your city.
But if you ask me about which subject to choose, I would prefer sociology or public administration because these are easy subjects and easily understandable. Besides, anthropology is also a good and competition is also less for it.
But again, your choice must completely depend on your interest.
