I don't think it is a good idea to drop a year as there is no surety that next year you are going to get very good score. If you get a good score that's good if you don't then will you drop again? No, you can't keep on doing this again and again.Better would be grab what comes to you this year only and try making best of it.In case your JEE score doesn't let you take admission somewhere, try for admission in some private university where you can get admission on JEE scores/ tests conducted by them/ your marks in 12th. Some of these also offer good scholarships based on any one of the above mentioned admission criteria.

I would recommend PEC chandigarh for Mechanical. It is better than NIT Hamirpur definitely. PEC has been rated better in other branches as well and placements are also good.

Dear anurag Thakur. the following data would give more clarity to you. the information which I have got recently:
CGC highest salary around 28 lakhs and minimum salary 4.00 lakhs per annum coming to MIMT,noida. average salary 4.5 lpa and highest 9-12 lpa. therefore, take your decision accordingly. I prefer CGC. all the best.

Shubham, there are many good colleges and universities in Chandigarh like CGC Landran, Rayat Bhara etc.
Apart from this in your vicinity you have good private universities like GNA, LPU, etc offering the course.
LPU is offering good placements and scholarships to students.
Check websites for details.
