Hello Shubhanshu,
You have completed your degree in chemical engineering and you are interested in doing a course in food preservation etc. Yes this definitely appears to be a very good course to expand your horizon and also increase your employability. To get admissions in NITR, you should have got marks in range of 150-180 if you belong to general category. To get a better branch as per last year records available on JOSAA website. But since it is a new NIT. So, it might be possible that you get admission on little less marks than mention above.

Hello Eswara, For appearing in GATE, M.Sc is an accepted norm or even 2nd year of M.Sc. However, getting into M.Tech for any branch, you need to have degree of B.Tech. There are very few institutes which will accept M.Sc. In chemistry as a criteria for admission for M.Tech. In this connection you should first decide in which institution you want to take admission and then check the eligibility requirement of this institution before taking the plunge into GATE and then finding out that you are not eligible. Best wishes to you.

Hello Shubham, At least in India, chemical engineering has much more potential for job as compared with aeronautical engineering. Job prospects for aeronautical engineering core jobs is restricted to perhaps ISRO or DRDO. On the other hand, for chemical engineers plenty of companies give employment. Best wishes.
