The more important thing in B.Tech is branch , CSE is very good branch as he get. You just don't go for petroleum or chemical. Vit is also very good for computer Science student. Placement records are very good.

Petroleum Engineering has a much wider scope when compared to Chemical engineering. Do target IITs.

There is a vast difference.Petroleum engineering is a concentrated field but its scope in India is much more compared to chemical engineering.
