Dear Rajendra, I feel you should go for chemical engineering, as it has many openings in India as well abroad. Though it is not a new branch, it has picked up tremendously these days as a result of which many reputed universities like VIT, LPU, SRM, etc. Have started offering it. They have their different criteria for admissions. Some offer admission on basis of JEE scores, some offer admission on basis of their own tests and some offer admission on the basis of both. Hello Rajan,
Going for NITs is a good choice. But, it is mandatory that you need to appear for JEE Mains and have a good score so as to get admission at NITs. Your 12th mark is not considered for admission but you need to have a minimum of 75%.

Hey Suman,
It is really very tough to qualify for the entrance exam, to be least, with such marks.
You can definitely try some other colleges, which would give you an immense knowledge of your selection of course.

According to your question, it looks like you want everything quick and fast. Well, chemical engineering is a good option. While applying for private institute you have yo be careful have a research regarding placement. If you get selected in campus interview then there is no need for you to run here and there for a job. In case you don't get placed then you have options like Reliance, Asian paints, IOCL, Shell, Total, Petrobras, etc. You have to apply on your own which is a bit long process. You can get a job in these companies if vacancies are available. As competition in the chemical engineering field is pretty high. So, be prepared
