Of course the degree is worth it. Chemical engineering is a vast sector. Job opportunities are high but only problem is to get into job. Once you get into a good firm like FMCG sectors or core chemical making company you will be getting alot knowledge production wise. Top firms are there like ONGC, IOL and HUL, etc. Make a way and sure u will get satisfied with your decision you have taken. I know all this because I myself is a chemical engineer. Hope this helps. Comment if you need any help.

Dear Prudhvi,
As per the guidelines of UGC, none a university (or college) in India can offer the engineering and medical courses through distance mode. Even AICTE does't recognize that. Hence, it is a must to do M.Tech in regular mode. Hope this helps. Good luck.

Hello Aranyo, Placements at NIT's are always better. Production engineering has perhaps wider application than chemical engineering and hence consequent opportunities are more in production. But ultimately it's hard work that counts.
